Steve graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the Gippsland Institute of Advanced Education. He established CenWest Constructions with Patrick Franco in 2006 after a 17-year career, working in supervisory roles with power and water infrastructure providers and project management positions on a range of energy projects.
His work has taken him to Queensland, the Northern Territory, Western Australia and overseas to Malaysia. In four years as the Director Projects for Powercorp Operations, Steve took the overall responsibility for the implementation of wind farm, wind diesel, power station automation and other generation related projects. Patrick Franco
An experienced constructor and site supervisor, Patrick established CenWest Construction with Steve Hopkins in 2006 following successful stints supervising wind farm developments in Western Australia for Vestas Australian Wind Technology. He took overall responsibility for all civil works including roads/hardstands, WTG foundations, HV trenching and cable installation for Vestas’ Emu Downes 80 MW Wind Farm and the Alinta 90MW Wind Farm near Geraldton.
Prior to his work with Vestas, Patrick worked as a site supervisor for Powercorp Operations on wind farm projects in Albany and Windy Hill, worked as a civil contractor on the Denham Wind Farm Project and performed various mechanical/civil site works for nickel and gold mining interests.
The company is based in Geraldton, Western Australia, although Steve and Patrick will discuss your project plans throughout Western Australia or neighbouring States in Australia.
